THE brenta RIVIERA

24-05-2021

The Brenta River, over the centuries has been enriched with magnificent villas. Today you can retrace the route by bike, on foot, or with the burchiello sailing along the waters of the river.

The Brenta Riviera is a succession of sumptuous noble houses built by architects such as Palladio, Frigimelica, Scamozzi and immersed in the greenery of centuries-old parks. To be discovered in an itinerary that winds between Venice and Padua along the quiet course of the river. Venitian nobles used to not use many kilometers to go on vacation. They had to travel a short stretch, leave the lagoon behind and the chaos that city had to have in their opinion at that time to go and look for some fresh and greenery on land. And since in the city the nobles and the rich were used to living in sumptuous palaces, even in the countryside they sought the comforts and comforts to which they were accustomed.

The classic way to travel it is still today by boat, but the itinerary can also be followed by car or bicycle. You can also let yourself be transported along the river and between the villas with the Burchiello that for half or full day will take you on a guided tour along the main beauties of the Riviera, arriving as far as Padua or Venice.

Today many of the villas of the Brenta Riviera can be visited and give tourists the spectacle of magnificent architecture, rooms frescoed by the masters of Italian art and beautiful gardens. Among the most important villas we recommend a visit to Villa Pisani with its labyrinth and Villa Malcontenta (designed by Palladio).

Staying a hotel on the Brenta Riviera also allows you to easily reach Venice and Padua and discover, during the same trip, two of the most beautiful Italian cities of art.
