The area where our hotel is located is the place where the nobles from Venice used to come in vacation. It's a short trip now, but back then that was just what they needed to have some time to relax from what a life of a rich and noble person could have been... They built the magnificent villas you see across the banks of the Brenta River, commissioning them to the most famous architects of the time, like Palladio for example. Nowadays you can follow the river and visit the mansions as they were during their glorious times. A small cruise will take you along the calm waters of the Brenta River. Along the way the stops will be the Venetian villas that face the body of water. The boat (burchiello) will be taken from Padua to Venice or vice versa, according to the program on the website. In the past it was used by Venetian nobles to reach their holiday resorts, the villas. Today everyone can retrace the places and splendours of the Serenissima. The route can also be made from the Mira-Oriago stop.
We advise you to take the train from the nearby Mira-Mirano train station and park the car, arrive at the station of Venice or Padua depending on the departure of the Burchiello and then returning to the station of Mira-Mirano you will find the car where you left it. The Burchiello, in fact, travels the Brenta once a day, leaving from there the following day to do the reverse tour. Our hotel Do Ciacole is about 7 min. from the train station in Mira-Mirano.
On the way there will be stops with guided tours of the villas: Villa Pisani, Villa Widmann and Villa Foscari called La Malcontenta. During the navigation, the guide will also explain the villas, villages and anecdotes of the Brenta Riviera. It is also possible to have lunch on board the burchiello, between stops.
